Our feed material is coal tar; the pressure at the pump outlet is 120 kilograms, while the pressure in the tank is 1 kilogram. It has now risen to 3 kilograms, but the pump inlet still vibrates. What could be the reason? Can the pressure be increased any further?
There are many reasons for vibration in the pump’s outlet pipeline, and it is not necessarily caused by too low an inlet pressure head of the pump. Please check the vibration of the motor and the pump, whether the foundation is level and solid, whether the shafts connecting the machine and the pump are aligned, and whether there are any issues with the stress design of the pump’s outlet pipeline The inlet pressure of the pump should not be set too high, otherwise the operational flexibility of the feed tank **decreases**.
Check whether the inlet filter is clogged. Is the outlet pressure and flow rate of your pumps stable?
There are quite a few factors; is the bracket placement appropriate? Should we do a dynamic analysis? !
The high-pressure pump should have a designed minimum flow rate; to maintain pressure balance on the impeller, it is necessary to allow some flow. It should have some effect.
Can the cause of the pump vibration be identified?
I’ve encountered vibration at the inlet side after starting the pump; it’s mainly caused by low outlet flow. Opening the valve set to the minimum flow rate resolves the issue, right? Is your feed load too low?

Vibration in reciprocating pumps is inevitable; the focus should be on strengthening the pipes. The pump outlet should be equipped with buffering devices such as buffers; check whether they are installed and whether the mounting is correct.
