Dear experts, for the eccentric rotary valve used in water-coal slurry gasification, is SS304 required for the valve body? Do the valve core and seat need to be made of tungsten carbide as a whole? Also, must the oxygen valve’s body be made of forgings? Inconel 625 castings are not acceptable.
If overall tungsten carbide is used, that would be the best option, but it is quite expensive. Depending on the circumstances, 316L can be considered, or surface hardening using Stellite can be employed. The body of the oxygen control valve can be made from 625 cast material, but the shut-off valve and flanges must be forged
Tungsten carbide seat and spool assemblies are currently being widely used.
For high pressure differences, tungsten carbide is the best choice; Stellite alloys are not as good
