The high-speed pumps used in our company, Beijing Aerospace, are equipped with siphon tanks. Can’t figure out its principle and function? Please, experts, offer some guidance. . . . . Thank you! :P
The siphon tank provides circulating lubricating oil for the external seal, and uses self-pressure to draw away any leaked internal seal fluid and send it to locations such as flares
A siphon filler is a device used to supply sealing fluid to mechanical seals; there are both pressurized and non-pressurized types.
The siphon tank functions as a sealed auxiliary system, corresponding to PLAN52 in API682; it serves to improve the conditions under which sealing is achieved by providing an additional buffer fluid between the medium and the outside environment, thereby preventing the medium from leaking directly into the atmosphere and causing pollution or hazards.
