The temperature of this oil should be maintained above 85 degrees, and the pipes are insulated using jackets. The boiling range of anthracene oil is between 200 and 500; it is the asphaltenes that cause blockages in the pipes. The temperature in the feed pipe is usually around 100 degrees.
