I heard from a colleague before that automatic control valves cannot be fully closed during use, meaning their opening degree cannot reach zero. Is that indeed the case?
Automatic control valves are used to regulate flow; they cannot achieve complete sealing, and sealing is not required either
If the valve is set to automatic control, it’s impossible to reach 0, unless it is manually set

I’m not sure whether the automatic control valve you mentioned is what is known as a self-acting control valve. If it is indeed a self-acting control valve, then I can say with certainty that it involves a shutdown mechanism. For example, in the case of a pressure reducing valve, it will shut down when the pressure behind the valve exceeds a certain set value, reaching the valve’s inherent shutdown level – which could be level IV or level VI, depending on the material used for the valve seat.
It is not a self-acting control valve; it is a valve that automatically regulates flow. :)
Does an automatic control valve refer to a pressure reducing valve, one that maintains a constant pressure downstream of the valve?
What I’m referring to here is not a pressure relief valve, but rather a device used to regulate the flow rate in pipelines. In other words, does a control valve have the function of shutting off flow in addition to regulating it?
