Our factory uses 58-Ⅱ type coke ovens with a ceiling height of 4.3 meters. We would like to mix natural gas with the gas produced by these ovens for use as fuel. I hope experts can help us determine whether it is possible to do this, and if so, how to calculate the appropriate proportion of natural gas to be used, as well as what measures need to be taken

Gas mixed combustion is mixed based on the same principle as the Huai-White index. The Huabai index is a parameter indicating thermal load (heat generation index). Different gas compositions with the same calorific index can release the same heat load at the same combustion pressure. The low calorific index is the net heat value of the gas being tested divided by the square root of its relative density. Low calorific index = Net heat value / Square root of relative density. The high calorific index is the total heat value of the gas being tested divided by the square root of its relative density. High calorific index = Total heat value / Square root of relative density
Is your converter gas blast furnace gas? If so, by adding natural gas you are enriching the lean gas – of course, there’s no problem with that! But where has the coke oven gas gone? If it is coke oven gas, then I wonder why natural gas is mixed in?
