The issue is as follows: there is a standard orifice plate in Shanghai, and the ordering specifications use the local atmospheric pressure in Shanghai. Now this orifice plate needs to be taken to Xinjiang for use; the atmospheric pressure in Shanghai is approximately 1.01×10^5, while it is 0.9 in Urumqi, Xinjiang. Will this difference have an impact on the measurement of flow rate? How great will the impact be? Do we need to ask the manufacturer to recalculate it? First of all, thank you to the friend who answered!
There is no impact, because atmospheric pressure is not involved in differential pressure measurement! ! ! ! ! ! !
It has no impact; a differential pressure flow meter measures flow rate indirectly by detecting differential pressure, so simply zero it out before putting it into use.
There is no problem with the differential pressure transmitter; we will definitely need to recalibrate it when we get back. However, the range specified in the calculation sheet was determined based on the information provided in the order inquiry form from the initial design stage. Now that the parameters in that order inquiry form have changed, it’s not clear whether a recalculation is necessary! The main issue is that it’s not clear just how much of a role atmospheric pressure plays in the calculations related to orifice plate processing; those who manufacture orifice plates should know this! I would like to thank everyone for their participation here. I will continue to wait for a solution to this issue, as the relocation project is quite large-scale, and there are also a great number of instruments involved!
The orifice plate has been manufactured, but the operating conditions have changed. This is a situation that often occurs in practice. Send the original calculation documents along with the current process parameters to the manufacturer, and ask them to carry out another calculation to determine whether the orifice plate can still be used. If it can be used, they will recalculate the differential pressure range.
If a recalculation is needed, the default value is 1 standard atmosphere; you can send me the calculation sheet and I’ll help you recalculate it. Q290666948
I really thank you so much! I’ll add you on QQ; let’s chat there!
