How is the size of the silo pump selected based on the amount of fly ash in a power plant’s ash transport system? In many articles, the ultimate fly ash conveying capacity is determined only after the commissioning is completed, whereas the silo pump is selected before commissioning. So how can one choose a silo pump based on the existing fly ash handling volume? Additionally, is the feed air lock before the feed valve included in the scope of supply for the silo pump system? Do I still need to purchase it separately?
Silo pump conveying is intermittent; the number of cycles per hour ranges from 6 to 15, with the upper limit applied for shorter conveying distances and the lower limit for longer ones. Furthermore, from the perspective of energy conservation and valve lifespan, it is advantageous to use the lower limit. However, factors such as equipment cost and installation space also need to be taken into consideration.
