It depends on what type of silicone is being produced. It basically comes down to: being near the market, near raw materials, or near utility facilities. Upstream products are generally located near raw materials and utility facilities, as pollution is relatively severe there. Downstream products are usually situated near markets, as demand changes rapidly in those areas.
