For low-temperature equipment, low-temperature materials are used; the material standards specify that these materials have been tested for their low-temperature impact strength at the lowest operating temperature required for that type of steel, prior to leaving the steel mill. 1. Does the impact energy required by GB150 refer to the low-temperature impact test that must be conducted on the steel before it leaves the factory, or does it mean that the manufacturer conducts the impact test on the material after purchasing it (which is equivalent to a retest)? 2. If it’s a re-inspection, I’m a bit confused – since the inspection was already done before leaving the steel plant, is there really a need for another one?
The impact energy required by GB150 refers to the low-temperature impact energy that steel mills need to achieve. It does not refer to the retesting of materials by the manufacturer who uses them.
