Question: For the upper tubular jacket of the housing, the design drawings do not specify the direction of the spiral; can it be chosen by oneself? Sometimes the direction is specified in the drawings, but it gets reversed during outsourcing manufacturing. If we agree to make concessions, will the customer refuse to accept it? I often encounter such troublesome situations; I know there shouldn’t be any problem, but I still feel a bit uneasy. :)
The direction of rotation should be indicated on the pattern, but it’s not a problem if it isn’t indicated or if the direction is incorrect...
The main function of the semi-tube jacket is heat exchange. As long as the length of the half-pipe remains unchanged, and the orientation and elevation of the pipe connections at both ends of the half-pipe stay the same, its functionality is not affected. If the rotation direction during manufacturing does not match the drawings, it is best to contact the design institute, as this constitutes a structural change.
From the perspective of heat transfer, there is no impact; the change in rotation direction does not result in any substantial change in heat transfer. It should also be noted that once the rotation direction changes, it constitutes a structural change; so what about the stress and mechanical conditions under certain pressureful operating conditions after the structure is altered?
