The hydrogen sulfide gas detectors in our facility have been in use for a long time, and their sensors are replaced on a regular basis. However, every time they are calibrated, it is found that their response is slow. A test was conducted: the first time a standard gas was introduced, it took a long time for the concentration to reach the alarm level, and the final measured value was considerably lower than the concentration of the standard gas ; However, during the second test with the standard gas, the alarm was triggered after a short while, and the final measured value was close to the concentration value of the standard gas. Just as a slow response requires activation, if there’s a leak at the site, it could lead to serious problems~ Is it a problem with the instrument? It’s still a problem with the detection principle; do the detectors in other factories also have this same issue? I hope fellow users will step in and discuss this

For toxic gases, electrochemical sensors are generally recommended! Such sensors are very delicate; they are typically packaged and stored under strict conditions upon leaving the factory. Basically, after leaving the factory (but before installation), they must be replaced within a maximum of 1 year!
