Dear sea friends: Does anyone know the manufacturers of sanitary flow meters? The media to be measured are fruit glucose syrup, water, and fruit juice – what is the reliability of these flow meters in terms of performance? I would be grateful if you could share your insights; thank you very much

External ultrasonic flow meters are another option, but they should be used with caution. When making a selection, it is necessary to take into account factors such as the pipe material, wall thickness, physical properties of the fluid being measured, process operating conditions, and the surrounding environment. Additionally, high requirements are placed on installation, including the length of straight sections before and after the flow meter.
The so-called sanitary flowmeter actually does not exist as such; rather, among the various types of flowmeters, there is one option designed for use in applications with high hygiene requirements. To create sanitary-type flow meters, electromagnetic flow meters are generally used, as the media being measured are usually aqueous solutions with certain electrical conductivity. Furthermore, mass flow meters, rotameters, ultrasonic flow meters, and similar devices – those that do not have dead zones for the fluid within their measuring components – can be made into sanitary versions.
For fruit glucose syrup and fruit juice, it is recommended to use Coriolis mass flow meters with sanitary clamps; we have both domestic and imported versions available. Water used in food factories is generally non-conductive, so electromagnetic flowmeters cannot be used; it is recommended to opt for sanitary-type clamp-connected Coriolis mass flowmeters or metal tube float flowmeters.

A hygienic type isn’t necessarily hygienic, right? I see a wide range of flow meters used in the dairy and wine industries; there are meters such as orifice plates and vortex flow meters, and the main requirement is simply regarding the material used.
