What is generally used for cooling carbon propylene liquid during decarburization? What is the cooling method? Water-cooled? Ammonia cooling? What temperature is generally required for cooling?
Water cooling or ammonia cooling are both acceptable; generally, the temperature is kept between 25 degrees and 30 degrees
It is usually water-cooled; tube coolers or heat exchangers can be used, with a temperature of below 35 degrees being sufficient
The cost of using water cooling is lower and the investment requirements are smaller, while using ammonia cooling increases the load of gaseous ammonia.

Our old plant was the first to use water cooling; during the summer months, when the load increased, the CO2 level in the purified gas became quite high. Later, as the production capacity increased from 100,000 tons per year to 150,000 tons per year, water cooling was replaced by ammonia cooling, and the results were very good.
Reply to 1# 327867: Water-cooled. I’m from Shandong; the outlet temperature in summer is around 30 degrees (the highest value), and the load is higher during summer! We could use a larger cooler; that would yield better results. Currently, we’re using two units with a heat exchange area of 1500 each
Currently, some plants use lithium bromide refrigeration to produce chilled water, which is used to cool the decarbonated propylene carbonate solution; the results are quite satisfactory.
