In our on-site construction work, we often come across a type of duplex steel—2205. Some people say that this duplex steel does not require pickling, as it can be used without it. . . What do you think, and how can this be resolved during the construction process? . . .

The claim that duplex steel cannot be cleaned properly is completely nonsense; I have seen many 2205 equipment units that have been cleaned very well.
Double-phase steel 2205 is actually a combination of austenite and ferrite. Conventional pickling **causes surface corrosion and also reduces the properties of the surface. . .

I think the same, and I’ve also looked into various sources; there are no regulations stating that it’s prohibited. However, it’s not allowed in some projects – for example, in the Yangba project, acid cleaning is not permitted. . .
Can duplex steel have the same passivation mechanism as austenitic or nickel alloys? Doubts exist regarding this; acid cleaning has always been carried out according to the processes used for stainless steel acid cleaning. I don’t know why many property owners require double-phase steel to be pickled and passivated.
