Method for determining free formaldehyde in polyvinyl formal

Hello, colleagues. I’ve encountered this issue recently while conducting experiments to analyze the free formaldehyde content in products. I used the sodium sulfite method with thymolphthalein as an indicator, but the endpoint was not clear. Is there any way to accurately determine the formaldehyde content? It is estimated to be around 1%. Thank you
Run it on a chromatograph; with such a low concentration, the errors in measurement using chemical methods are quite large
It’s a pity that we don’t have the conditions for chromatography. Also, may I ask at what level of formaldehyde concentration does this method become accurate?
