Our company uses Italian FILTEC GRO3000 water ring pelletizers. In these machines, the molten particles are cut by the cutting blades and then thrown into water to cool and take shape, after which they are dried through centrifugal dehydration. Currently, the cutting blades in these pelletizers often get stuck, and they develop cracks; their service life is quite short. I would like to ask everyone for insights into the reasons for this and any possible solutions
I haven’t used it, but my guess is that it can be divided into two categories (this requires observation). 1. If the blade gets stuck frequently, it might be due to the “cracks that often appear on the blade,” as you mentioned; check whether the water temperature is too low, which could result in slices that are too hard. 2. Another possibility is that the water temperature is too high, causing the slices to be too soft and thus unable to be cut properly, leading to the blade getting stuck; this repeated on-and-off cutting can damage the blade. 3. This possibility is perhaps low, but it’s possible that the temperature of the die isn’t sufficient, leading to porous blockages and increased pressure in the die, thereby causing uneven output. 4. Also, does this issue occur right from the start with new equipment, or only after some time has passed? (One possibility is that the equipment isn’t suitable for the type of slicing you’re doing, and the other is that there’s a problem with the distance between the cutting blades.) Another thing to check is the pH level of the water, to see if low pH is the cause of the short lifespan of the cutting blades.
