I would like to ask my seniors: A small Roots blower used in our factory keeps tripping off after replacing the belt. What could be the reasons for this? The main operating medium is nitrogen/instrument air.

The belt is tight, the load is high, and there’s an overcurrent!

Is the belt specification model the same as the original one?

The tripping is mainly caused by an increased load, resulting in overcurrent in the motor. The problem appeared after the new belt was installed; the reason given on the 3rd floor is the most likely one. If it’s not for this reason, further investigation is needed. Let me ask further: under what circumstances does it trip? At startup? Or after running for a while? How long is it? Does the fan start with no load or under light load? What is the motor power?

I still think it’s due to a problem with the belt. The belt-related issues you mentioned have been ruled out, but with no change in operating conditions, the only variable left is the belt. Moreover, you said it happens after half an hour of operation, by which time the belt is already in a heated state~
