Should a vent pipe be installed in the water seal well placed on the production wastewater pipes that contain flammable liquids? The drawing manual 04S519-39 does not specify the need for a vent pipe; however, some engineers say it is necessary. What is the purpose of this vent pipe?
Prevent combustible gases from leaking into other systems, thereby reducing the risk of fire or explosion in the presence of an open flame. See Article 7.3.7 of the Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises GB50160-2008
In other words, not all water-sealed wells require exhaust pipes; it is sufficient to install exhaust pipes at the inspection wells at the highest points of the main and branch pipes for wastewater from Class A and Class B installations
