Regarding air source filter-pressure reducing valves, I would like to ask whether they have both filtering and pressure reduction functions, or whether some of them lack the filtering function and only have pressure reduction capability. I’ve seen in our factory that some of these valves have a glass-like container inside, and water accumulates in it over time; this water needs to be drained regularly. However, some pressure reducing valves do not have such a glass container – does that mean they lack the filtering function? Please give me some advice. If you need to check it, and if there is water present or the pipes are dirty, choose a model with a drainage function – this allows for regular removal of water and debris. Generally, these functions are built into the equipment by the manufacturer itself
In pressure relief valves available on the market today, the pressure reduction function and the filtering function are combined; upon disassembly, a filter screen can be seen. As for the drainage function, it can be set to automatic or manual drainage, with little difference in price
It’s easy to tell whether it has a filtering function or not. If there’s a filter screen when it’s disassembled, then it has a filtering function; if there’s no filter screen, then it doesn’t. Just take apart damaged or old units to check – the principle is very simple
A filter pressure reducing valve – that’s what it’s called these days – actually combines the functions of filtering and pressure reduction; what used to be a three-piece unit is now essentially just two components.
In the case of a single unit, it generally has both filtering and pressure reduction functions, allowing for multiple uses of the instrument. If it is a two-piece or three-piece set, then they are tables with single functions; some have only a pressure-reduction function, some only a filtering function, and some have a lubrication function. The specific type of structure to use should be chosen based on the operating conditions of the control valve
A filter pressure reducing valve performs both filtering and pressure reducing functions; some are designed specifically for filtering, while others are designed specifically for pressure reduction. Filter-pressure reducing valves are installed in front of the control valves and shut-off valves within the device, with the purpose of 1) filtering out impurities and moisture from the instrument air, and 2) reducing pressure. The so-called triple unit refers to three functions: filtering impurities from water, filtering oil, and reducing pressure.
