We are carrying out some engineering installations recently and need to purchase cable trays. Statistics showed that there was no uniformity among the design institutes: the main equipment areas used epoxy resin materials, the circulating water system employed perforated trays, while the tank areas were made of galvanized material. Which experienced poster could share their opinion on which material would be the best to use? Also, what are the relevant regulations in this area? Thank you very much
Slot plates come in tray-type, slot-type, and ladder-type designs. It’s not clear what the process medium used in the device you are working on is; if the medium is a corrosive strong acid, then epoxy resin material or fiberglass should be used. If it’s not such a medium, galvanized slot plates can be chosen. For consistency, epoxy resin material is the only option.
When selecting tray boxes, it is necessary to take into account the process medium used in the device as well as the environmental conditions at the location where it will be installed. The design team must have their reasons for making such decisions; if high-quality materials are chosen, the cost will certainly be higher. If uniformity is required, then epoxy resin materials could be an option, although these tray boxes are not commonly used in China
Considering cost and corrosion resistance, it is better to choose fiberglass-reinforced plastic.
Epoxy resin is relatively expensive; its cost is too high.
