I have a question: is it difficult to switch from design to construction work? Would contractors even want someone like me for this role?

I currently work at a small design firm, and I feel that its development is limited to some extent. I’d like to try working at larger engineering companies to gain more experience; I’m not sure if this will help things improve. Thank you all
There is improvement; it involves the fundamentals. Those who spend a year or so on-site working learn quite a lot
It should be necessary; if a transfer is indeed to take place, it’s important to familiarize oneself with some construction acceptance standards

You can only know this by trying it; there are also many people who started designing later in life
