In engineering, pipe pressure testing is a common practice; water is usually used as the medium for such testing. As for pressure testing with gas, how do you handle it? Are pressure relief devices also used to ensure safety? . . How do you all do it? . .
The air pressure I’ve measured has always been low; I haven’t done anything specific regarding this. I’m not sure if it’s necessary to use high pressure.
If it is below six kilograms, it may not be necessary to proceed; it falls within the normal range. If it is above six kilograms, due to the special nature and potential hazards of gas pressure testing, a relief device should be installed to prevent overpressure.
Of course, there are pressure relief devices; otherwise, pressure would remain in the pressurization system (or else the pressurization would not be effective and the system would leak). These devices are usually incorporated into the venting system.
When pipes are subjected to pneumatic pressure testing, pressure relief devices are necessary for safety reasons, especially for pipes located within a factory facility where the testing conditions are complex; any abnormal pressure leakage can pose a danger. This will be taken into consideration during the formulation of pipeline-related standards.
GB50235 contains regulations regarding pressure testing: When the design pressure of the pipeline is less than or equal to 0.6 Mpa, gas can be used for this purpose, but effective safety measures must be taken. Generally, pneumatic systems use relatively low pressures and have larger pipe diameters. Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary to use a safety valve; as long as no one gets hurt, that’s enough.
A pressure relief device is necessary; otherwise, if the pressure becomes too high, releasing that pressure at the end of the compression process can be harmful. It’s essential to have a safe pressure relief device to release the pressure safely into the air :):):)
According to the standards, GB50235 specifies that a pressure relief device is required for pressure tests; I think this makes sense, as such a device can effectively protect the equipment and pipelines in case of problems during the pressurization process. . .
