Issues with single-flange level measurement in internal floating roof tanks

Thread Content

I would like to ask fellow sailors: for a methanol storage tank with an internal floating roof and operating at atmospheric pressure, using a single-flange level transmitter, with a height of 12 meters – does the single-flange design require negative migration to offset the weight of the internal floating roof? If such migration is necessary, how is it calculated? The original range is 12*0.79*9.8=92.9. 2. If negative migration occurs, won’t it cause inaccuracies when the tank is empty? Would it be better to set a dead zone directly on the host computer?

Why isn’t anyone answering? Is it too simple? I’d appreciate your advice

I have the same question; a pressure vessel at normal pressure should work, right?

A single-flange differential pressure level transmitter does not require negative migration. If the zero point of the liquid level is not on the flange line and is above the flange, positive migration is needed; if it is at the same level as the flange, no migration is required. However, levels below the flange cannot be measured, so the zero point of the liquid level is generally calculated starting from the lower flange opening~~~

Single-flange level transmitters installed directly do not require relocation, while those equipped with capillaries need to be considered for relocation!

Maybe I didn’t explain it clearly enough. It’s because of the internal floating roof that migration needs to be taken into account; it should be a positive migration. I was wrong in what I said earlier, and I just want to ask how to carry out this migration
