What are the differences between mass flow meters, rotameters, and vortex flow meters?
1. The mass flow meter is based on the Coriolis force; it consists of two parallel T-shaped oscillating tubes inside the sensor, with a driving coil in the middle and sensing coils at each end. It directly measures the mass flow rate of the medium passing through the meter, and can also determine the density of the medium as well as indirectly measure its temperature. A mass flow meter is an important flow measurement instrument. Mass flow meters use heat-sensitive measurement. 2. Rotameter: A device that calculates flow rate by measuring the (position) of a rotating component located within a straight pipeline. It is a type of variable-area flow meter: in a vertical conical tube that widens from bottom to top, the gravity of a float with a circular cross-section is counteracted by the fluid dynamics, allowing the float to rise and fall freely within the conical tube. It moves up and down under the influence of flow velocity and buoyancy; once equilibrium is reached with the weight of the float, the flow rate is transmitted to the dial through magnetic coupling. They are generally divided into glass and metal rotameters. 3. Vortex flow meters are devices that use the principle of fluid oscillations to measure flow rate. A non-streamlined vortex generator is placed in the fluid, causing the fluid to separate alternately on either side of the generator, thereby generating two sequences of vortices arranged in a regular alternating pattern. Within a certain range, the frequency of vortex separation is proportional to the flow rate.
