I would like to ask for your advice: We are facing a problem right now. We have a reactor in which the gas pressure inside is 2 kilograms. The liquid feed pipeline at the top has a diameter of 3 inches. When the feeding load decreases, severe cavitation noises occur in this pipeline, causing it to vibrate. Please help analyze the reasons and suggest solutions.
Is it because the vapor pressure is high, pushing the fluid into the pipes? Try increasing the feed pressure, or add a balance pipe
It might be that the pipeline is too thick; the diameter of the entire pipeline can be reduced, or only the diameter of the section leading into the reactor can be decreased
More details about the conditions are needed to analyze it; it’s best to draw a simple diagram. . Be specific about temperature, feed position, feed pressure, and so on.
If feeding is continuous, considering installing a check valve on the feed pipeline would be advisable
The material feeding location was improved by switching to feeding below the liquid level of the material; however, I thought it would be simpler and easier to install a check valve
It is usually a problem with the feed location; at low flow rates, severe two-phase flow occurs at the feed inlet, which can be addressed by installing an inline tube

Check valves are more commonly used. In our systems, it can also happen that, due to the feed rate being below the minimum requirement for ventilation inside the tank, gas flows back into the gas phase. You can try increasing the liquid phase outlet pressure.
I’m not sure whether there is a pressure control system at the outlet of the dosing pump during the dosing process by the original poster; if such a system is in place, the above problems should not occur
