During the use of B-JAC, when an appdf file was specified in B-JAC, it was found that the program required VLE data to be entered. Upon checking the original Aspen Plus file, it was seen that a refining template was being used, which did not contain any VLE property data. The VLE property data was entered manually, saved after that, and then B-JAC was reopened – only to find that VLE data still had to be entered. This phenomenon does not occur when using chemical templates for the simulation process. I guess it has something to do with the content stored in the appdf file; obviously, the appdf file is used for transferring data. What is an appdf file used for? I would like to ask how you imported appdf. After I tried to import it, VLE data was generated, but it was indicated that the file could not be saved. It also said that the Aspen file cannot be modified. Could you please give me some guidance? Thank you

This file is an Aspen Plus problem definition file; it stores component information and is a binary file, meaning it cannot be opened in text format. When importing it using EDR, the versions must match. If AppDF is to be used, it must be exported in the same version. Of course, such files are also generated during execution – not only APW but also BKP.
