Wastewater treatment regarding organic load

I have a question for everyone – it might be quite basic, but I still don’t understand how industry professionals calculate these values. Organic load includes volume load and sludge load; I know the definitions of each of these terms, but how are these two values determined? How can they be calculated? I would appreciate guidance from those who are more experienced in this area. Thank you

Especially in terms of anaerobic processes, there are significant differences in load among different types of reactors. Moreover, even for the same type of reactor, the load varies depending on the wastewater from different industries. It is best to have data from pilot and scale-up tests as a basis before designing, or at the very least, data from similar industries and processes for reference.

Volume load actually refers to the load on the device, representing the range of values for the device’s design; sludge load refers to biological load, which is the average carrying capacity of the organisms.
