Could you please explain what “solid bore flange” means?

On the information provided by foreigners, the flange is labeled as “ANSI Class 600 3" WN Solid bore flange”. I don’t understand what “solid bore flange” means; could someone please explain it to me? Thank you!
This post was last edited by jiji_212 on 2012-11-8 08:16. Solid bore flange likely refers to a flange with deep holes, meaning that such flanges are thicker and the holes on them are deeper. It’s just my humble opinion; I’m sharing it for everyone’s reference!
I asked the engineer; it’s the type that is welded on later, and its design resembles a scarf…… He said it should be called a weldneck flange
