According to HG/T 20592-2009, for necked butt-welded steel pipe flanges with PN25 and PN40 ratings in the nominal diameter range of DN10 to DN125, both the connection dimensions as well as the thickness of the flange and the dimensions of its neck are exactly the same. Taking carbon steel as the material for the flanges, within this nominal diameter range, can the maximum allowable operating pressure of a PN25 flange withstand that of a PN40 flange? This is a purely theoretical discussion; it does not relate to practical applications.
