Water flushing of the impeller helps save energy. Our facility also has such a device, but it has not been put into use yet. I would like to learn more about this topic; please share your knowledge with me.
Spray washing removes the water-soluble deposits from the impeller and volute, thereby restoring a better balance and higher efficiency to the compressor. The water tank containing distilled water uses a water pump to deliver the flushing water to the inlets of the compressor’s 3 blades; a funnel-shaped nozzle is installed at each inlet’s flexible tube. While the compressor is operating, the water mist emitted by the nozzles covers the blades and fills the entire flow channel; the high-speed rotation of the blades impacts this mist, thereby achieving a cleaning effect. Meanwhile, the waste water is discharged through the condensate outlets of various coolers. During the first three years of operation of the air compressor, due to a lack of understanding of the water spray cleaning system, this system was not utilized effectively. Since early 2004, several targeted adjustments have been made to this system, and indeed unexpected results have been achieved. 2 Application and Effects of the Impeller Water Spraying System On May 24, 2004, the vibration value of the third-stage shaft of the compressor changed from 8/12 μm at the time of commissioning to 3013/2218 μm (with little change for the first and second stages).
