Our facility has two combined tanks containing acidic wastewater, which is transferred externally in an indirect manner. The submersible pumps currently in use often get damaged during operation; the shortest time between failures is 4 days. We plan to redesign these transfer pumps – what type of pump would be suitable? The volume of wastewater to be transferred is 10 M3/h, with a head requirement of 50 meters.
Acidic wastewater is transferred indirectly, at a rate of 10 M3/h, with a head of 50 m. If there are no impurities, a regular chemical pump (acid-resistant type) can be used. If there are impurities (in small amounts), a screw pump can be employed; in cases of large amounts of impurities, a specialized sand-pumping pump is required
Acidic water contains impurities such as sulfuric acid sludge and mud, with a concentration of around 5%; can a screw pump be used in such conditions?
