Issues with regular maintenance of control systems

Our plant’s automation system is a Siemens PCS7 system. As it is part of an EPC turnkey project, the level of system maintenance is relatively low. The configuration of the system was not carried out by our own technical staff, and we also lack such specialists. I was wondering whether it would be necessary to sign a technical agreement with the manufacturer so that they can provide technical support. Generally, the technical support provided by the manufacturer is not very practical; it is necessary to train one’s own professional technicians who can carry out basic technical maintenance. Training can be obtained at the manufacturer’s facility, and the manufacturer can also provide regular inspection services
It’s better to train our own technical staff!
