It would be fine if the accumulator could be removed (some devices have valves while others don’t); there’s no risk involved. But why would the air bag lose pressure without any reason? If there’s a leak, don’t bother trying to refill it; just get a new one…
There is some risk, so we need to operate slowly when applying pressure. First, confirm that the device is in good working order, then slowly fill the container with air
