What is a demister?

A demister is installed at the top of the scrubber; I’m not sure what its purpose is – could it be to remove moisture from the feed gas?
During the gas-liquid contact process, the gas may carry liquid or foam.
A device commonly used in towers to prevent liquid entrained with gas from flowing out at the top of the tower, allowing the droplets to return back into the tower
