As shown in the figure above, this is content from the petrochemical pipeline installation manual. There is no issue with low outlet and high inlet arrangements, but one of the connection methods shown is a bottom cross-connection, namely the last diagram in the series. Won’t this cause condensate to accumulate in this cross-connection section? I hope someone with more experience can offer some advice. Most of our factory’s connections are made from the center; is this unreasonable?

During normal operation, under pressure and at the bottom, the fluid flows along the cross-connected pipeline, so no condensate settles there. When the system is shut down, the bolts can be removed to allow all the water to be drained. With the cross-connected pipeline in the middle, it’s difficult to drain all the water after shutdown; hence it isn’t recommended either in the screenshot you shared
We all weld directly. . . It is not connected with screws. . . Is this not up to standard?
The chemical plant has an annual maintenance plan, during which this connection pipe is cleaned or replaced.

They have been in production for 2 years now; some of them have cross-connections at the bottom, while others have them in the middle. In most cases, the connections are made by direct welding. So far, the insulation performance is fairly good, but I’m worried that there might be hidden problems if this situation continues over time. . . I’d like to know if other factories handle jacketed tubes in the same way as we do
I think it will reduce thermal efficiency and increase corrosion
