I would like to ask fellow sailors: At what temperature does vinyl acetate monomer undergo self-polymerization? Can polymerization occur at room temperature under aerobic conditions? Thank you~~~
I really don’t remember clearly; I suggest you check Baidu. If I’m not mistaken, in our company we fill the tanks with nitrogen and use stirring to cool them down when the weather temperature in summer rises above 28 degrees. At that time, the temperature on the ground and inside the storage tanks is around 30 degrees. We are in a northern region, and after 7 years of working in this field, we have not experienced a single case of polymerization.

I searched online for a long time; the information regarding polymerization is quite vague – most sources only mention that it occurs at high temperatures, but they don’t specify exactly what that temperature is. It might be related to the fact that vinyl acetate is not widely used~~~
