Catalyst loading completed in the Great Tang MTP industrial side-line unit

On December 9, 2012, the catalysts for Reactors A and B in the MTP industrial side-line unit of Datang Dolun Coal Chemical Company were installed, marking the entry of the process of using domestic catalysts in these reactors into the practical testing phase. There are two such industrial side-line units in total, each with a diameter of 1 meter and a height of 5 meters, and they consist of four stages of feeding. In the experiment, one reactor used a catalyst from Südchemie of Germany, while the other reactor used a catalyst developed independently. The goal of the pilot-scale and industrial side-test projects for Datang’s new methanol-to-propylene (MTP) catalyst is to achieve domestic substitution for MTP catalysts and related process technologies, as well as to develop MTP catalysts and processes with independent intellectual property rights.
