During the implementation of actual engineering projects, has anyone encountered major mistakes or situations that made it impossible or extremely difficult to proceed with the project? Feel free to discuss
Defining such issues as concerns – what constitutes a mistake and what leads to difficulties in progress – shows that in most projects, such problems are caused by human factors. It could be internal conflicts, insufficient skills on the part of individuals, or a mismatch between an individual’s personality and that of the team. In most cases, there are human elements at the root of these problems; therefore, from a certain perspective, managing a project means managing people.
This year, in the polysilicon industry, it is estimated that over 90% of stakeholders, including investors, construction entities, project contractors, and suppliers, have encountered significant mistakes or issues that have made it impossible or extremely difficult to carry out the projects. Similar industries include wind power, metallurgy, and some private coal chemical projects; they are very challenging.
From the initial planning stage of a project, through the bidding process, design, and construction, there are many people involved at each stage to oversee things. Unless the technological processes are not yet mature, it is unlikely that major mistakes will arise that would prevent progress. For projects with mature technological processes, it might be insufficient funding or problems in human resource management that could lead to difficulties or even the inability to carry out the project
