The price of a boiler from abroad is actually more than ten times that of one available domestically. For many domestic engineering projects, equipment suppliers should also provide a certain level of on-site service. I don’t know the exact price either, but I think it won’t be much. Many of them should be given away for free. At least many of the on-site workers provided by our design firm are given for free. Foreigners can earn 10,000 to 20,000 yuan per day from on-site services, and there are also restrictions on the number of times they can do this. Currently, the fee standards for engineering design in China are pitifully low. I don’t know how it is in other industries, but in our case it’s basically a little over 1. It’s a project we worked on abroad. The design fees are still higher when handled by local design firms. The level of project management in our country is mainly constrained by the project owners; their low awareness and capabilities hold back those working below them.
Although foreign companies charge high fees, their operating costs are also high. The company’s labor costs are very high; not only are the salaries of designers 5 to 10 times higher than those in China, but the company also has to pay various high expenses related to social benefits for its employees. Employees work at a slow pace, and many simple tasks often take longer to complete compared to in China, which naturally leads to increased costs. Overtime cannot be allowed arbitrarily; it is mandated by law. If it is truly necessary, the overtime pay is 2 to 3 times the regular salary. Companies also have to invest a significant amount of financial and material resources in corporate informatization, and these costs naturally have to be passed on to customers. Every family has its own troubles; even with high fees, profits aren’t necessarily high either, and there’s still a lot of complaining. :)
