May I ask under what circumstances in the process flow should full-bore valves be used?
I’m looking at the drawings, and it’s marked as a \"full-bore type\" valve; most of them are located on the safety valve discharge lines. It seems this is based on process requirements – so that the safety valve can activate when pressure rises, allowing for rapid pressure release
Generally, valves are gate valves; gate valves with gates that move all the way up allow the maximum amount to pass through.
I’m not sure whether the valves upstream and downstream of the control valve and flow meter need to be full-bore
Full-bore valves mainly feature low pressure drop, which can reduce the flow pressure loss of the medium in the pipeline
The inner diameter of the pipe is equal to or very close to the inner diameter of the valve seat, with the difference between the two not exceeding 10%. The advantage of full-bore valves is that they minimize pressure loss. It improves the fluidity of the medium. At the macro level, it reduces energy consumption and improves efficiency.
I personally prefer the answer from floor 6!

From what I understand, situations where full-bore is required are as follows: 1. Pipeline valves, especially those used in long-distance oil and gas pipelines that need to accommodate pigging devices, must be full-bore. 2. Refining and chemical industries: Requirements are placed on flow rate and velocity; reduced-bore fittings cannot be used – only full-bore fittings are acceptable. 3. Where the budget permits and cost savings are not required, use full-bore. 3. Full-bore is generally recommended.
