A project to produce 10,000 tons of titanium yellow powder and 30,000 tons of rutile has been established in Jiang’an, Sichuan. According to the West China City Daily, Jiang’an County in Sichuan recently signed an investment agreement with Zigong Yati Chemical for a project aimed at producing 10,000 tons of titanium yellow powder and 30,000 tons of rutile per year. The total investment in the project is 240 million yuan, and upon completion it is expected to generate an output value of around 2 billion yuan. This project primarily utilizes advanced German equipment and manufacturing processes, imports titanium ore raw materials from countries such as India and Vietnam, and carries out circular production by making use of the surplus hydrochloric acid, hydrogen, nitrogen, and steam resources available at the enterprises in the Yangchun Industrial Park in Jiang’an County. Construction on the project will begin in January 2013, with an aim to complete it by the end of 2013.
Not a source region for raw materials; not a area where consumption takes place. No logistical advantages. It’s likely that in the future, one will have to buy things at great expense just to sell them later
