In sulfur recovery, what is the working principle of the rich solvent flash tank? ? What is the purpose of feeding a poor solvent into the flash tank? ?
The light hydrocarbons carried in the rich liquid are flashed off; if these hydrocarbons enter the regeneration tower, they can cause foaming of the solvent inside the tower. This light hydrocarbon can be fed into an incinerator to be burned as fuel.
The rich liquid flash tank is used to flash the hydrocarbons in the rich liquid at around 70°C, thereby improving the quality of the acidic gas and preventing the formation of black sulfur; the lean liquid is then introduced to absorb as much hydrogen sulfide as possible from the flashed vapor.
Flash evaporation involves reducing pressure to rapidly separate the hydrocarbons dissolved in the rich liquid, thereby preventing their inclusion in sulfur recovery units and the formation of black sulfur. The flash vapor contains hydrogen sulfide, which is absorbed using lean liquid.

When the rich liquid enters the flash tank, the rapid expansion of space causes the light hydrocarbons dissolved in it to be released, thereby achieving the purpose of flashing. The lean liquid enters the flash tank to absorb hydrogen sulfide from the light hydrocarbon gas.
