A friend has asked for help with the technical calculations regarding the height and diameter of a desulfurization tower, as well as the height of the Pall ring packing, for an plant that produces 100,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year. If any of you have ready-made data that can be used, it would be greatly appreciated!
A packed tower can be used for the desulfurization tower; its diameter ranges from 3.6 to 4.0 meters, the height is around 32 meters, and the height of the packing is approximately 18 meters. This setup ensures that when the sulfur content at the inlet is between 2.5–3.0 g/m3, the sulfur content at the outlet remains below 25 mg/m3.
