How should the flow be distributed in a two-stage absorption tower?

For two-stage absorption towers, such as carbon removal towers or vent gas absorption towers, how should the flow rates of the absorbent in the upper and lower towers be allocated? Is there any theory or experience to support it?
Which process flow is the author referring to for the application? Generally, for gas generation purification (such as in large fertilizer plants), decarburization and vent gas absorption are carried out in two separate stages.
