Our company currently produces dimethyl ether, and I am responsible for its analysis. I use a packed column in series for this purpose, but I’m unable to detect water in the sample. I use HP columns to analyze water and methanol, and then subtract DME to achieve analysis at the ppm level; the column temperature is 120°C.
