I would like to ask everyone: how can we ensure thorough contact between the flue gas and the desulfurization liquid during flue gas desulfurization, in order to avoid dead zones? In other words, how should the nozzles be arranged?

A multi-layer staggered layout is adopted, along with an appropriate vapor-liquid ratio, to achieve maximum contact between the gas and the absorbent.
It’s related to the spraying angle of the nozzles and the diameter of the tower, I guess… Based on the spraying angle, the number of nozzles, and the tower diameter, the installation height of the nozzles is determined through geometric calculations, so as to ensure that there are no gaps between the various surfaces onto which the liquid is sprayed.
Using fillers is generally not advisable; the idea of having three layers makes some sense. In our designs, we usually use three to four layers of nozzles arranged in a cross-flow pattern. The atomization effect of these nozzles must be good, though ultimately this depends on the developments made by various companies.
