Question: For corrosive media, regarding the control valve at the bottom of the tank – a DN15 valve – can I use either a rubber-lined globe valve or a diaphragm valve? Are flange connection or threaded connection both acceptable for the installation? Furthermore, since the bottom of the tank is very low above the ground and the valve installation location is too close to the tank, which one of these valves has a shorter stem?:victory:
Since the bottom of the tank is very close to the ground, it is recommended to use valves with threaded connections, as such valves are shorter in length compared to those with flanged connections.
I think a lined ball valve would be better for such operating conditions
Ball valves or plug valves with threaded connections and a PTFE lining are the best choice
Valves with threaded connections also require space for disassembly, which must be taken into account during installation. Generally, threaded connections are more commonly used for small diameters of DN50 and below, but flanges should be used for flammable, explosive, and toxic media, as threaded connections do not provide good sealing. It is recommended to adjust the equipment to provide more space at the bottom; otherwise, holes will have to be dug at the bottom of the equipment, which can lead to water accumulation
