If the pump’s bearings fail, the consequences are: 1. The motor overloads and shuts down (shaft seizure); 2. If the motor does not trip due to overload, it will eventually lead to wear of the pump shaft, until it becomes unusable ; 3. In our production, we encountered a situation where the bearing of the ethanol pump was damaged, which led to the failure of the mechanical seal and ethanol leakage. The increased temperature resulting from dry friction due to the damaged bearing ignited the leaked ethanol, causing a fire.
This is exactly the case with bench pumps, and the following problems occur: 1. Damage to the pump seal, either the stationary ring or the rotating ring; 2. Damage to the pump seal shaft sleeve; 3. The pump bearings seize, preventing the pump from starting
