I would like to ask how the design temperature and pressure for dimethyl ether spheres are determined? The operating temperature is 40 degrees Celsius; at 40°C, the saturated vapor pressure is 0.89 MPa(a). At 50°C, the saturated vapor pressure is 1.15 MPa(a). Is there a spraying device? Is there a operating temperature? The question is a bit absurd; it asks for the saturated vapor pressure at 40-50 degrees
As a tank for storing liquefied gas, the dimethyl ether storage tank has its temperature and pressure determined in accordance with relevant regulations; the design temperature is 50 degrees, and the design pressure corresponds to the saturated vapor pressure at that temperature.
In the absence of insulation, the value should be based on the saturated vapor pressure at 50°C; in the presence of insulation, it should be based on the saturated vapor pressure at the highest operating temperature determined through testing.
For ordinary small storage tanks without insulation facilities, a design temperature of 50° should be adopted; for large spherical tanks, a design temperature of 40° can be used. These are empirical values, and most design institutes follow this approach, as it is difficult to maintain an overall temperature of 50° in large spherical tanks. Doing so helps save materials and reduce costs.
